Privacy Policy

Medaling with Friends helps runners track and share race schedules with the people they choose. Privacy is the point of the product, not an afterthought: your schedule is private by default, shared only with friends and clubs you opt into. We do not sell your data, and there are no ads.

What we collect

  • Account identity. When you sign in with Google, Apple, Facebook, or GitHub, we receive your email address and display name from that provider. We never see or store your password.
  • Profile details you add (all optional): a photo, location, pronouns, gender, and a short bio.
  • Race data. Races and results you add, plus results imported from public sources (e.g. UltraSignup, RunSignup) or that you connect from your registration accounts.
  • Social activity. Your friend connections, clubs and groups, messages you post, and meetups.

How we use it

Only to run the service: show your schedule to the friends and clubs you've connected with, surface races that match your interests, and send the email digests you opt into. We do not use your data for advertising, and we do not sell or rent it to anyone.

Public race results

Race results that are already public on sources like UltraSignup and RunSignup (a name and a finishing time) may appear on that event's race page here. A name shown on a race page is not a link into anyone's private profile. Hiding a result here does not remove it from the original source.

Who we share it with

People you connect with, per your settings — and no one else. We rely on a small set of service providers to operate the app:

  • Vercel — hosting.
  • Neon — database.
  • Vercel Blob — photo storage.
  • Resend — sending the emails you opt into.
  • Your sign-in provider (Google/Apple/Facebook/GitHub) and, if you connect them, UltraSignup / RunSignup.

These providers process data on our behalf to deliver the service.

Cookies

We use a single session cookie to keep you signed in. We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.

Your choices

  • Control who sees your schedule; every result can be hidden anytime.
  • Edit or remove your profile details in Settings.
  • Unsubscribe from any email digest with the link in the email, or in your group settings.
  • Delete your account at any time — see Deleting your data.

Children

Medaling with Friends is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their data.
